Introducing Professional Vocalist Val Ross Born in Bristol, Val’s singing career began at the age of twelve, while at senior school, with early Television appearances and a record recording already in hand, Val auditioned and joined ‘Ken Birch Orchestra’ as their resident Vocalist. Supporting top bands and groups as Bob Miller, Ray Mcvay, Acker Bilk, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd to name a few.
It was during this time when Val met up with Johnny Curtis who was resident Vocalist with the Bob Miller Band who also toured the Uk. Their meeting on a number of gigs took their friendship
to higher level of what Val would describe as Love at first sight. He was special in every way.
The terrible news that was to follow of the tragic incident on February 1st 1969 in Queenstown Road, Battersea London where Johnny Curtis was killed on his way home from what
was to be his last gig.
Val’s recent recording of ‘Picking up Pebbles’ penned and recorded in 1968 by Johnny
Curtis, was given to her by him as a vinyl 45rpm.
Continuing a long and successful career Val enjoys the opportunity to extend her
repertoire of music and audiences.
